I tried every Gamma alternative... just use Claude
(sending shareable "things" > decks)
I really tried to use Gamma.
It was fast. but it was wrong.
I’d spend an hour in Claude working through an idea, then i’d paste it into Gamma and get back something that looked like last year’s model design (probably was). So I’d reprompt. and reprompt. basically redoing everything I’d already done in Claude.
I tried every competitor. Beautiful.ai, Presentations.ai, Canva’s AI thing, a few others. All had the same problem: felt novel for 10 minutes, then I spent more time fighting the tool than building the thing.
I just kept re-explaining what I was doing in Claude… The core issue is context. These tools don’t have it. Claude does.
But Claude didn’t used to be good at design.
With Opus 4.6, Claude is genuinely good at design now. like, good good. and it can go way beyond a slide deck… interactive explainers, one-pagers, visual docs, stuff Gamma can’t even attempt.
So now i just ask Claude to make it.
The workflow is dead simple:
I’m already in a Claude conversation (or Claude Code session) where the context is built up
I ask it to create the document, deck, explainer, whatever
I share it with clients (usually with Send Claude Connector)
I get feedback, iterate, done
No re-explaining my idea to a second tool. no “make it more like what i actually said.” the thing that understands my idea is the thing designing it.
It feels like i’m just scratching the surface with this. Opus 4.6 + the ability to create real documents and interactive content inside Claude has changed how i share ideas entirely.
P.S. I appreciate you reading this far, here’s the full post AS a claude created document with the prompt I use:
